The Full Moon Party takes place on Haad Rin beach, Koh Phangan, every month on the night of the full moon. Between 20,000 and 30,000 people typically attend. The beach runs about 600 meters and is lined with bars and clubs, each with its own DJ and sound system.

The party runs from sunset to sunrise. Entry costs 200 THB (~6 USD) at any of the gates along the beach. You get a wristband that lets you walk in and out freely.

Most visitors stay on Koh Phangan for 2 to 4 nights around the party. Hotels near Haad Rin fill up weeks in advance. The closest big island is Koh Samui, 30 minutes away by ferry. If you haven't booked yet, read our accommodation guide first.
